New National Safety Tool

The government has launched a new online tool for schools to give parents advice and tips on preparing their children for adult life. The new online service called Parent Info, will give parents the information they need to help them navigate the issues children can now face on everything from spotting the warning signs of self-harm, to having a healthy body image and managing money in a digital world.

SEND Local Offer at Kidbrooke Park School

All Greenwich maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school. All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with a Special Educational Need/s and or disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible, where families want this to happen.

School Journey

The children have the opportunity to study away from school and cope with the challenges of being away from home for a few days in a school group. It is a very valuable social and educational experience. Currently the school visits Swanage in Dorset, a residential site by the sea.

Absences

The school receives support from the Attendance and Advisory Service to make sure children attend school regularly and are punctual and ready to learn. Research has shown that there is a direct correlation between levels of attendance and standards achieved at KS1, KS2 and the number of GCSEs gained.

If your child is ill or needs to be away for some reason, please send a note to her/his class teacher or telephone the school, otherwise the absence has to be recorded formally as unauthorised. The Attendance Officer and the school are legally required to monitor absences and report findings to the Government. Any day lost through is a day's less education. We cannot endorse any unnecessary absence.
