School Journey

The children have the opportunity to study away from school and cope with the challenges of being away from home for a few days in a school group. It is a very valuable social and educational experience.

The school receives support from the Attendance and Advisory Service to make sure children attend school regularly and are punctual and ready to learn. Research has shown that there is a direct correlation between levels of attendance and standards achieved at KS1, KS2 and the number of GCSEs gained.

If your child is ill or needs to be away for some reason, please send a note to her/his class teacher or telephone the school, otherwise the absence has to be recorded formally as unauthorised. The Attendance Officer and the school are legally required to monitor absences and report findings to the Government. Any day lost through is a day's less education. We cannot endorse any unnecessary absence.
